Dear Congressman,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I believe a bill should be introduced in congress which results in taxation on the purchase of a sport utility vehicle. The current Gas Guzzler Tax that has been on the books starting back in 1978 does not apply to SUVs and most Americans I believe feel this is wrong. We are currently in a sky rocketing fuel price crisis which seems to have no end. The American demand on fuel continues to push the fuel prices higher. Americans need to be discouraged from buying SUVs and encouraged to buy fuel efficient vehicles. As long as people buy SUVs the American car companies will produce them. The best way to discourage SUV purchases is through taxation. Please consider what is best for our country. I do not want my children to pay 6 or 7 dollars for a gallon of gas.
